| Course Description | This course is an advanced developmental psychology course that aims to understand human development with a focus on the first six years of life. The course will review theory and research and cover aspects of cognitive, social, and emotional development. Students who complete this course are expected to have a deep understanding of the fundamental topics in developmental psychology and be able to design, conduct, and interpret research in this field. |
Course Learning Outcomes and CompetencesUpon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:1) Learn important theoretical perspectives in aspects of developmental psychology. 2) Describe different methodologies in developmental psychology 3) Develop a critical perspective on scientific research. 4) Develop an ability to propose original research studies in the field. |

| Teaching Methods | The flipped learning format will be used for the entire course. The students need to read the weekly chapters for class discussion before the class. A presentation and class discussion of an empirical research article by a student will follow a short lecture about the week’s subject. | |||||||||||||||
