Course Description | This course aims a broad survey of some of the major debates on key theories, arguments and issues in the field of comparative politics, such as state formation, political systems, civil society, democratization, political culture and economic development. | |||||
Course Description in Turkish | Bu dersin amacı karşılaştırmalı siyaset alanının temelini oluşturan devletin oluşumu, siyasal sistemler, sivil toplum, demokratikleşme, siyasal kültür ve ekonomik kalkınma gibi konularda var olan temel teori ve kavramların vaka analizlerine dayanarak incelenmesidir. |
Course Learning Outcomes and CompetencesUpon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:1) karşılaştırmalı siyaset alanındaki temel teoriler, argümanlar ve konulara ilişkin başlıca tartışmaları anlamak 2) Dünya çapında çok çeşitli siyasi sistemleri, kurumları ve davranışları incelemek için bazı temel analitik araçları bilmek 3) Aşağıdakiler de dahil olmak üzere bazı önemli temel soruları yanıtlayabilmek: Neden bazı ülkeler demokratikken diğerleri değildir? Farklı rejim türlerinin ortaya çıkışını nasıl açıklayabiliriz? 4) karsilastirmali siyaset alt alanındaki çok çeşitli soruları ele almak için ampirik kanıtları kullanmak amacıyla belirli ülke örneklerini uygulamak. Tartışılacak ülkeler şunlardır: İngiltere, Fransa, Almanya, Rusya, Çin, Brezilya ve İran. 5) demokratik, otoriter ve yarı-otoriter hükümetlere ilişkin seçilmiş vaka çalışmalarını karşılaştırabilmek 6) alt alanla ilgili teori ve yaklaşımları kullanarak güncel olayları analiz etmek |

9) Ability to display language skills in English at minimum B2 level enough for debating with colleagues on issues of Political Science and International Relations, and also display language skills in a second foreign language at minimum A2 level enough for communicating in daily life | ||||||
