Overall Educational Objective | To learn to propose a design that models a practical problem, which includes engineering standards, realistic constraints and conditions, by using the knowledge and skills acquired through previous classes and apply the proposed design to a selected practical problem.
Course Description | This course constitutes the second stage of IE senior design project. In this course, based on the problem selected, students will propose a design for a complex system, process, device or product, and apply the proposed design to the selected problem under the supervision of their advisors.
Course Description in Turkish | Bu ders EM tasarım projesinin ikinci ayağını oluşturmaktadır. |
Course Learning Outcomes and CompetencesUpon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:1) solve the practical engineering problem, considered in IE491, by using the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for practice; 2) apply the contemporary design developed in IE491, which models the studied practical problem that includes engineering standards, realistic constraints and conditions; 3) organize and deliver effective verbal, written, virtual, and graphical communications; 4) define professional and ethical responsibility followed during a design process and critique the impact of the conceptual design in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts; 5) function effectively as a member/leader of a team; 6) analyze the effects of the applied design using relevant data; 7) recognize the importance of acquiring and applying new knowledge as needed. |
