Course Description | This course deals with an area of public international law labelled international organizations. It aims to provide an introduction to the law of international organizations and to develop an understanding regarding the personality, structure, functions, authority and powers of the international organizations. The purpose is to gain a deeper understanding of the role of international organizations and their laws in the globalized world. | ||||
Course Description in Turkish | Bu ders, Milletlerarası hukukun uluslararası örgütler olarak adlandırılan bir alanını ele almaktadır. Uluslararası örgütler hukukuna bir giriş sağlamayı ve uluslararası örgütlerin kişiliği, yapısı, işlevleri ve yetkileri hakkında bir anlayış geliştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Amaç, küreselleşen dünyada uluslararası örgütlerin ve hukuklarının rolü hakkında daha derin bir anlayış kazanmaktır. |

Homework and Projects | The final grade is determined by combining the marks of one semester project and final examination. The distribution of the final course grade is as follows: - Semester project - 40p. (Assignment and in-class presentation-The assignment will only be graded if the student makes her/his semester project presentation.) -Final examination - 60p. (Students must obtain at least %50 of the total points in the final exam (i.e. at least 30 points out of 60), in order the semester project to be taken into account in the course grade. Otherwise, the grade obtained in the semester project will not be considered in the overall assessment. The same also applies to the re-sit exam. *Academic dishonesty, cheating, and plagiarism can lead to serious repercussions and will not be tolerated. Students that plagiarise, or cheat will fail the course. * Using AI-based tools or websites like ChatGPT to complete your projects for the International Organizations Law course is strictly prohibited.
