The students will learn the importance of International Trade in the World Economy.
Through the study of different models and policies on Trade, they shall learn to define which model and policy is followed by key World Trade players.
They shall know which are the main World and Regional Trade monitoring and implementing Organizations and their interdependence.
They shall be able to follow international ongoing negotiations, which attract great public and financial interest and understand why they are so important for entrepreneurs, companies and countries around the World.
They shall experience, through practical illustrations, the correlation between global and bilateral trade agreements as manifested through the example of the EU International Trade agreements and its bilateral agreements with specific Organizations and countries.

Course Description |
The primary objective of the course will be to familiarize the undergraduate students with the fundamental concept of the International Trade, which is of particular importance for the economic growth and welfare worldwide.
The fundamentals of international trade, such as various theoretical models that describe international trade relations, the role of each theory and its relevance to policy, will be discussed in order for the students to understand the motives and rationale behind international trade.
The course will be devoted to the analysis of major international institutions and organizations that play a significant role in modifying international trade. Students will be provided with an analytical perspective about the norms, principles and mechanisms of the international trade organizations (such as the WTO) and will be able to explore the various negotiations and agreements that have been settled (NAFTA, MERCOSUR, ASEAN), the relationship between multilateral and regional trade agreements and current challenges to the global trading system affecting the world economy.

Bu dersin başlıca amacı öğrencileri dünya genelinde ekonomik büyüme ve refah yolunda büyük önem taşıyan uluslararası ticaretin temel kavramlarıyla tanıştırmaktır.
Sınıfta tartışılacak konular arasında öğrencilerin uluslararası ticareti teşvik edici nedenleri, ilke ve temelleri anlayabilmesi için uluslararası ticari ilişkileri tanımlayan çeşitli teorik modeller, her teorinin rolü ve politikalara uygunluğu gibi uluslararası ticaretin temel kavramları yer almaktadır.
Bu derste uluslararası ticaretin yapısının değişmesinde büyük rol oynayan başlıca uluslararası kuruluş ve organizasyonların analizine büyük ölçüde yer verilecektir. Öğrencilere uluslararası ticaret organizasyonlarının (WTO gibi) kuralları, prensipleri ve mekanizmaları konusunda analitik bakış açısı sağlanacak ve muhtelif müzakereler ve yapılan anlaşmalar (NAFTA, MERCOSUR, ASEAN), çok uluslu ve bölgesel ticari anlaşmalar arasındaki ilişki ve dünya ekonomisini etkileyen global ticaretin karşılaştığı zorluklar incelenecektir.
