Course Description | Definition of mechanical engineering and its relationship to sciences, required technical communications and skills, computational tools for engineering problems in the field of mechanics of materials, fluid flow, thermal systems, and power transmissions. Understand engineering design process in a design project, and able extends design process to general problem solving, and recognize the value of creativity in engineering design process and teamwork. | |||||
Course Description in Turkish | Bu derste; makine mühendisliğinin temel kavramları şu konu başlıklar altında kapsamlı bir şekilde incelenmektedir: makine mühendisliğinin tanımı ve temel bilimlerle olan bağıntısı, gerekli teknik iletişim ve beceriler, mühendislik problemleri için hesaplamalı gereçler, makine mühendisliği tasarım prensiplerinin uygulandığı bir proje yaparak yaratıcılık ve ekip çalışmasının önemini kavramak. |
Course Learning Outcomes and CompetencesUpon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:1) recognize the Mechanical Engineering program and its continuous improvement. 2) explain engineering ethics and its importance in the career of a mechanical engineer; 3) describe the basic concepts and the formal design process in mechanical engineering; 4) function effectively on a team; 5) prepare a project report and verbal presentation about a design process in mechanical engineering; 6) acquire and apply new knowledge as needed. |
