Overall Educational Objective Çevresel değişimin, iklim ikliminin özelinde, sürdürülebilir kalkınmanın ve uluslararası güvenlikle sürdürülebilirliğin sağlanması.
Course Description The course provides the students a comprehensive understanding of interactions between environmental change, climate change, in particular, sustainable development and international security. In this context, the course analyzes the political and economic reasons of environmental problems. The course explores the rise of environmental consciousness in the developed world. It delineates key principles of sustainable development. Climate change is analyzed with its causes and consequences. The institutional structure of climate change regime is analyzed. The concept of environmental security is critically analyzed.

Course Learning Outcomes and Competences

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) learn the relationship between environmental change and national and international security;
2) conduct political and economic analysis of environmental degradation and environmental problems;
3) distinguish and compare the main principles of the concept of sustainable development;
4) analyze climate change with its causes and consequences and learn the institutional structure of the climate change regime;
5) critically analyze the concept of environmental security.
