Overall Educational Objective To familiarize oneself with collective decision-making processes in 1:1 design and construction scale
Course Description This course aims to explore the power of building and co-producing in architecture education and the spatial, social impact of productions in various environments by partnering with local governments, non-governmental organizations and industry. MEF FADA Design and Build! Studio will involve learners by producing one-to-one scale from the first moment of the design to the final step of production. Feeling the power of co-production, discovering limits, learning collective decision-making processes, are the triggers of observing and understanding each other and making.

Course Learning Outcomes and Competences

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) work in 1:1 scale design and production process;
2) actively participate in collective decision-making and collaborative production;
3) communicate with local stakeholders and industry partners;
4) construct basic timber structures.

6) An ability to conduct rigorous research, analyze and synthesize data, and apply theories, methods, and intellectual frameworks on design subjects.
