Overall Educational Objective To understand the principles of Corporate Finance and learn the skills that help in financial decision making process in a typical corporation.
Course Description In today’s world, basic information on financial management issues is a need-to-know concept for both the management candidates that would like to promote or for the entrepreneurs who would like to run their own business. This course aims to provide students, who are aspiring managers and entrepreneurs looking to establish their own businesses, with fundamental financial knowledge. The goal is for students to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills related to the financial decision-making process, methods that can assist in decision-making during this process, and analysis techniques for evaluating the outcomes of the decisions made.

Course Learning Outcomes and Competences

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) comprehend the basic principles of corporate finance and financial management;
2) will be able to analyse and compare projects using internal yield ratios and other comparison methods;
3) will have the knowledge to understand and evaluate the concepts of cost of capital and cost of debt;
4) will be able to understand the methods and dynamics of capital financing and debt financing and will be able to compare the advantages and disadvantages of these methods and will be able to understand in which situations these methods can be used.

3) To comprehend and interpret the fundamental macroeconomic indicators (balance of payments, money supply, trade balance, foreign exchange rate etc.)
4) To know financial markets and risk, money markets, capital markets, real estate markets, option markets and pricing.
5) To understand the relationship between money and banking and to possess knowledge regarding the financial markets.
6) To use quantitative techniques to increase decision-making capabilities in business environment
7) To show proficiency in analyzing and interpreting financial tables
8) To apply the models used in financial decision making in accordance with risk management techniques and legal regulations.
9) To take initiative and lead multidisciplinary teams, applies economic and financial concepts to solve complex problems.
10) To use written and spoken English effectively (at least CEFR B2 level) to exchange scientific information
