Expected Prior Knowledge Prior knowledge in selecting suitable constituent materials for concrete mixtures and evaluating fresh and hardened cementitious material properties using various test methods, is expected.

Overall Educational Objective To familiarize students how to design of concrete pavements used for highways, airports, streets, local roads, parking lots, industrial facilities, and other types of infrastructure.
Course Description This course will provide the students detailed information about types of concrete pavements, sustainability of concrete pavements, material selection, mix design and proportioning of concrete, concrete pavement design fundamentals, concrete pavement maintenance and rehabilitation.
Course Description in Turkish Bu dersin amacı, çeşitli beton yol uygulamaları, beton yolların sürdürülebilirliği, malzeme seçimi, beton karışım tasarımı, beton yolların tasarım ilkeleri, bakım ve onarımı ilgili detaylı bilgiler vermektir.

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) Differentiate durable concrete mixture for pavements
2) Apply concrete pavement design fundamentals based on traffic loading stresses and deflections
3) Perform thickness design, transverse and longitudinal joint design
4) Distinguish methodologies for concrete pavement maintenance and rehabilitation

11) Ability to formulate critical hypotheses based on psychological theory and literature, and design studies to test those hypotheses.
