Overall Educational Objective The main objective of this course is to learn about the economic development of Turkey from the Republican period to the present and to make comparisons; to evaluate the economic developments in the axis of the world economy.
Course Description Türkiye’nin İktisat Tarihi,Türkiye Ekonomisinde Büyüme: Sorunlar, Dinamikler ve Kaynaklar,Türkiye Ekonomisinde Önde Gelen Sektörler,Türkiye Ekonomisinde Ödemeler Dengesi ve Cari İşlemler Açığı,Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası ve Para Politikaları,Türkiye’de Döviz Piyasası ve Politikaları,Türkiye’de Finans Piyasaları,Türkiye'de Enflasyon Gelişmeleri,Türkiye’nin İstihdam Yapısı ve İşsizlik Sorunu,Türkiye'de Borçlanma ve Borç Yapısı,Türkiye’de Kamu Ekonomisi ve Maliye Politikaları,Ekonomik Krizler ve Türkiye,Dünya Ekonomisi Ekseninde Türkiye Ekonomisinin Durumu,Türkiye’de Gelir Dağılımı ve Yoksulluk; konularını içermektedir.

Course Learning Outcomes and Competences

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) To learn to list the macroeconomic indicators of the Turkish economy in order of importance
2) To learn the role of central banks in monetary and interest rate policies
3) To interpret the developments in the Turkish economy by utilizing current international socio-economic indicators
4) To learn about Turkey's macroeconomic problems
5) To analyze the Turkish economy by using the relations between globalization and income distribution

4) To know financial markets and risk, money markets, capital markets, real estate markets, option markets and pricing.
5) To understand the relationship between money and banking and to possess knowledge regarding the financial markets.
6) To use quantitative techniques to increase decision-making capabilities in business environment
7) To show proficiency in analyzing and interpreting financial tables
8) To apply the models used in financial decision making in accordance with risk management techniques and legal regulations.
9) To take initiative and lead multidisciplinary teams, applies economic and financial concepts to solve complex problems.
