To deepen the understanding of the theory and applied use of critical thinking principles and practices in the EFL classroom

Course Description |
This course aims to facilitate development of critical thinking of prospective English teachers, focusing on a variety of instructional, educational, and sociological phenomena. Furthermore, it aims to equip teachers with the specific understanding and ability towards using critical thinking in a variety of ELT contexts. Finally, in this course, prospective English teachers will be able to prepare for a variety of situations related to critical thinking instruction through case studies, course planning, and micro teaching.

Bu ders, çeşitli öğretimsel, eğitimsel ve sosyolojik olgulara odaklanarak İngilizce öğretmen adaylarının eleştirel düşünmelerinin gelişimini sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Ayrıca, öğretmenleri çeşitli ELT bağlamlarında eleştirel düşünmeyi kullanmaya yönelik özel anlayış ve yetenekle donatması da amaçlanmaktadır. Son olarak, bu derste İngilizce öğretmeni adayları vaka çalışmaları, ders planlama ve mikro öğretim yoluyla eleştirel düşünme öğretimiyle ilgili çeşitli durumlara hazırlanabileceklerdir.

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) eleştirel düşünme kavram ve desenlerini açıklar
2) eleştirel düşünmeyi geliştirecek ve kullandıracak ilişkili kaynakları tanır
3) eleştirel düşünmeyi öğrenme ve öğretmeye dahil edecek öğretim tekniklerini ve materyallerini tanır ve analiz eder.
4) sınıf öğretiminde ve materyal geliştirme süreçlerinde eleştirel düşünme becerilerini uygular.
