| Overall Educational Objective | This course is a course in which the theories and group processes that form the basis of group psychological counseling will be explained. Within the scope of this course, students will experience an experiential group process throughout the semester, both as a group member and as a leader. Students will receive feedback from both their peers and the instructor conducting the course. | |||||
| Course Description | During the semester, group psychological counseling theories, group processes, leadership skills, and the use of activities in the group process will be covered theoretically and practically. In addition, ethical issues and the characteristics of the group leader and members will be emphasized during the group psychological counseling process. |
Course Learning Outcomes and CompetencesUpon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:1) To distinguish the goals of the group counseling process, the principles of group dynamics, the developmental stages of the group and their consequences for the group process. 2) Details of group psychological processes to parse ethical and professional issues 3) Identifying group stages and process issues to promote group development 4) describe the personal and professional qualities of the group leader (psychological counselor) 5) Applying group counseling methods and leadership skills 6) To indicate leaders' skills in facilitating the group counseling process. |
