| Overall Educational Objective | Understanding the concept of conscious awareness, its scientific basis, applications and applications in the school environment and counseling. | ||||
| Course Description | Mindfulness is an attention directing approach. Its basis is based on eastern traditions. Its applications have been carried out in many clinical and non-clinical settings for the last 20 years and provide scientifically meaningful results. Especially in school environments, many ministries of national education around the world offer unique programs for students and teachers. It is used to intervene in many problematic areas for students and teachers in schools. Attention, awareness (physical, mental and emotional), especially in the regulation of emotions, are promising in making desired changes and adjustments in interpersonal relationships. Therefore, the content of this course to be taken in the master's program will include theory and practice in which psychological counselors will acquire these skills and can transfer them to their sessions/classes. |
Course Learning Outcomes and CompetencesUpon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:1) Defines conscious awareness as a concept. 2) Recognizes and makes sense of theories and research in the field of mindfulness that show beneficial effects for physical and mental health. 3) Distinguishes strategies for working with thoughts, emotions and sensations, developing capacities to increase mind-body awareness in the experience of the present moment. 4) Understanding the discipline of practicing, developing your own mindfulness practices and adapting them to your daily life |
