Overall Educational Objective |
This course is compulsory for doctoral students. Seminar given to master's students: Scientific Research Methods and Research and Publication Ethics have the same content with the course. Academic writing rules, ethical principles, measures to be taken to avoid plagiarism are given to students within the scope of this course. |

Determination and limitation of the topic, overview of research methods and library use, collecting and reading sources, note-taking, planning, avoiding plagiarism and citation rules, practical work on citation rules, other formal rules and typesetting of the thesis |

Course Learning Outcomes and Competences
Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) Applies the formal rules of academic writing.
2) Knows and applies the rules of citation.
3) Knows the meaning of plagiarism and its weight in the evaluation of academic works.
4) Write thesis and project in accordance with MEF University Graduate School of Social Sciences Thesis and Project Writing Regulations.
