Course Description

Course Learning Outcomes and Competences

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:

1) Develop and deepen the knowledge that theoretical and practical based on undergraduate qualifications.
2) Understand and discuss the interdisciplinary interaction related to the field of guidance and psychological counseling.
3) Understand theoretical and experiential perspectives of educational psychology.
4) Identify historical, contemporary, and future theoretical perspectives that underpin counseling practice.
5) Understand various developmental, personality, and learning theories and their relevance to counseling practice.
6) Demonstrate the theoretical and practical knowledge at the level of expertise and has acquired in the field of psychological counseling and guidance, develops and deepens this knowledge.
7) Understand the conceptual processes involved in the application of theory-based approaches with clients with different social, cultural and developmental characteristics.
8) Understand to incorporate theoretical understanding into work with clients, including using techniques and interventions, conceptualization, and developing a personal understanding of their own theoretical approach.
9) Understand group counseling dynamics and able to facilitate various types of groups using appropriate and relevant group facilitation skills to create transformational experiences with clients.
10) Recognize and consider a human development framework when implementing counseling services within a multi-tiered approach to prevention and intervention.
11) Write and interpret scientific research projects.
12) Analyze scientific researches and understand how research findings can be integrated into the counseling process in practice.
13) Demonstrates an ethical understanding of professional limitations and competencies and they understand how to self-evaluate their own performance in relation to these ethical standards.
14) Design a psychoeducation program to counseling practice informed by, and grounded in, theories, research, and personal experiences.
15) Demonstrate counseling skills that include interviewing and case conceptualization.
16) Apply and provide an individual and group counseling based on effective therapeutic factors and characteristics.
17) Recognizes the importance of staying dynamic and up to date by reading and continuing their experiences in the field.
18) Evaluate their own competencies and when working with a vulnerable population, continue to be reading and seek support or supervision from experts in the field.
