In this course, the concept of crime will be discussed from the perspective of power theory and the impact of developments in neuroscience on this framework will be examined. |
Course Description |
To authority to define what is crime and what is the punishment for defined crimes is one of the basic features of the use of political power. In the framework of this course the theories that aim to legitimize this particular authority will be presented together with the discussion whether developments in neuroscience would lead to the establishment of a new theory.

Neyin suç olduğunu ve suçun cezasının ne olacağını belirleme yetkisi, iktidar olgusunun tezahür ediş hallerinin belki de en önde gidenidir. Bu ders kapsamında, bu yetkiyi meşrulaştırma için kullanılan başlıca kuramlara değinilecek ve nörobilimdeki gelişmelerin bu çerçevede yeni bir kurama temel oluşturup oluşturamayacağı tartışılacaktır.
