Overall Educational Objective Learn and understand the theory and contemporary corporate approaches to sustainable business, corporate governance, corporate citizenship and corporate social responsibility.
Course Description This course aims to provide an understanding of sustainable business. Students are expected to gain a broad understanding of business, governance and the interconnectedness between business and corporate citizenship and corporate responsibility. Students will learn how to attempt to ultimately create implementable plans to create or change business organizations so that they have sustainable businesses. We explore the meaning and dimensions of sustainability, corporate governance, corporate citizenship, corporate social responsibility, their relation with financial structure and economics of the business, learn strategies for achieving sustainability, and implementation plans. Students will engage in a project based on learning and apply their knowledge and skills to the application of sustainable business challenges.
Course Description in Turkish Derste son dönemin popüler konularından işletmelerdeki sürdürülebilirlik kavramını ele almayı hedefliyoruz. Öğrenciler işletmelerdeki çağdaş uygulamaları, kurumsal yönetim yaklaşımlarını, işletme ile çevre arasındaki ilişkileri ele alacaklardır. Ders sonucunda öğrenciler, bir işletmenin sürdürülebilir (kalıcı) olabilmesi için yapması gerekenlerin ne olduğu konusunda detaylı bilgi ve yetkinlik sahibi olacaklardır. Öğrenciler sürdürülebilirlik, kurumsal vatandaşlık, kurumsal yönetim, kurumsal sosyal sorumluluk vb. kavramların tanımı, açılımları, işletmelerin finansal yapısı ve ekonomik yaklaşımları ile ilişkisi ve etkisi ile nasıl uygulanacağı konularında bilgi ve uygulamada yetkinlik sahibi olacaklardır. Öğrenciler sürdürülebilirlik konusunda işletmelerin karşı karşıya bulunduğu değişim ihtiyaçları karşısındaki durumlarını ve yapılması gerekenleri analiz eden bir proje gerçekleştireceklerdir.

2) Explain the basic methodologies and techniques of inquiry in business, so as to recognize the interest of conflict between business operations and sustainability
3) Interpret information and numerical data to systematically assess the impact of a business on its environment and reporting requirements.
4) Value ethical and socially responsible actions in business operations.
5) Demonstrate critical thinking skills in proposing and defending plans to achieve sustainability in business.
