Overall Educational Objective |
To become familiar with the steps of scientific research projects conducted by the faculty members from different areas of psychology and to be able to integrate psychological research practice in those research projects. |
Course Description |
This course is aimed to expand students’ skills in conducting and evaluating research in psychology. Students will engage in different steps of research projects including data collection, coding, or writing manuscripts together with the faculty member in a specific project. Students will also be able to critically evaluate empirical studies in psychology. At the end of the course students will write a formal research paper or present findings verbally. |
Course Learning Outcomes and Competences
Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) evaluate literature findings and scientific articles in area of interest in psychology;
2) engage in intense data coding process;
3) collect data (if needed);
4) evaluate the findings of research through the means of SPSS;
5) write or present research findings in an empirical format;

This is a joint course meaning that depending on the research projects one or more faculty members might work with independent study students under the same course.
