Overall Educational Objective The aim of this course is to demonstrate to students how capital markets function both in theory and in practice.
Course Description This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive perspective covering the fundamental concepts and functioning of capital markets. Within the scope of the course, students will have the opportunity to acquire extensive knowledge on financial markets, the process of capital formation, various types of markets, financial institutions, instruments in capital markets, money and capital markets, Islamic finance markets and instruments, securitization, general market definitions and explanations, precious metals market, equity markets, derivative markets, and the bond market.

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) To understand the functions, relationships and roles of financial institutions and regulatory bodies in financial markets;
2) Understand the characteristics of different financial markets and stock markets;
3) Understand the characteristics of various financial instruments such as equities, bonds, commodities and derivative securities;
4) To compare and distinguish the differences between global and Turkish financial markets.
