| Course Description |
Firstly, the Ancient Greek period, which is the first period in which philosophical thought and political thought emerged, and the main thinkers of this period will be examined VERY BRIEFLY but separately (especially with the dimensions that affect today's political thought or institutions); then the thinkers who gave birth to and influenced the political thought of the Feudal period will be evaluated VERY BRIEFLY.
In the meantime, some thinkers, especially Ibn-i Haldun, will be discussed, who show a very fundamental difference and priority compared to their period.
Then, the basic concepts of the period called modernity will be discussed, starting with Machiavel - Jean Bodin - John Locke and Thomas Hobbes. In this context, it will continue with ROUSSEAU - MONTESQIEU - SIEYES, which form the basis for the formation of today's concepts and institutions.
In the examinations and evaluations of these different thinkers, the "reading passages - related questions" distributed for the subject or thinkers to be discussed will be used.

Derste ilk olarak, felsefi düşüncenin ve siyasal düşüncelerin ortaya çıktığı ilk dönem olan Antik Yunan dönemi ve bu dönemin temel düşünürleri, ÇOK KISACA ancak ayrı ayrı (özellikle günümüz siyasal düşüncesini ya da kurumlarını etkileyen boyutları ile) incelenecek; daha sonra Feodal dönem siyasal düşüncesini doğuran ve etkileyen düşünürler, YİNE ÇOK KISACA değerlendirilecektir.
Bu arada dönemine göre, çok temel bir farklılık ve öncelik gösteren bazı düşünürler, başta İbn-İ Haldun olmak üzere, ele alınacaktır.
Daha sonra, esas itibarı ile modernite olarak adlandırılan dönemin temel kavramları; özellikle Makyavel - Jean Bodin - John Locke ve Thomas Hobbes dan başlamak üzere ele alınacaktır. Bu bağlamda, günümüz kavram ve kurumlarının oluşmasında temel oluşturan ROUSSEAU - MONTESQİEU – SİEYES ile devam edilecektir.
Bu değişik düşünürlere yönelik inceleme ve değerlendirmelerde, ele alınacak konu ya da düşünürlere yönelik olarak dağıtılan “okuma parçaları – ilgili sorular” kullanılacaktır.
