Course Description |
This course gives a comprehensive overview to financial markets. Business practices are included for various markets. Financial instruments and mechanisms of capital accumulation are described in the context of macroeconomic dynamics and market efficiency. A special interest is given to pricing and comparative studies with respect to financial instruments. The course covers the following topics in detail: Money Market, Bond Market, Equity Market, Derivatives Market and Hedging. |

Bu ders finansal piyasalara kapsamlı bir genel bakış sunmaktadır. Çeşitli piyasalara yönelik olarak iş hayatındaki pratik uygulamalara yer verilmiştir. Finansal araçlar ve sermaye birikimi mekanizmaları makroekonomik dinamikler ve piyasa etkinliği bağlamında anlatılmaktadır. Finansal araçlara ilişkin fiyatlama ve karşılaştırmalı çalışmalara özel önem verilmektedir. Derste şu konular ayrıntılı olarak ele alınmaktadır: Para Piyasası, Tahvil Piyasası, Pay Piyasası, Türev Piyasalar ve Riskten Korunma. |
Course Learning Outcomes and Competences
Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) Has a broad understanding of the definitions and basic dynamics of financial instruments
2) Has ability to understand business practices in line with the academic knowledge provided.
3) Demonstrates ability to make basic calculations of financial mathematics, including present value, return, and standard pricing of bonds, equities, and derivatives.
4) Demonstrates knowledge and skills in understanding financial markets with its linkages to macroeconomics.
