Overall Educational Objective To learn the regulations regarding children in need of protection and children who are dragged into crime within the framework of the Child Protection Law and the characteristics of the application of the provisions of the Turkish Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Law regarding children in the Criminal Trial.
Course Description Juvenile Criminal Law course covers measures that are applicable to juvenile delinquents, how these measures are implemented, investigation and prosecution procedures specific to juvenile delinquents and other issues differing from procedures concerning adult delinquents. The aim of this course is to explain to students the difference of juvenile law at least in the sense of criminal law. The status of juveniles as separate legal subjects is emphasized with this course.
Course Description in Turkish Çocuk Ceza Hukuku, suça sürüklenen çocuklar hakkında uygulanacak tedbirleri, tedbirlerin uygulanma usullerini, çocukların soruşturma ve kovuşturma sırasında tabi oldukları düzenlemeleri ve diğer yönlerden yetişkinlerden farklı oldukları hükümlerin ele alındığı bir derstir. Bu dersin amacı, öğrencilerin çocuklarla ilgili hükümlerin en azından ceza hukukuyla ilgili olanlarını derinlemesine öğrenmelerini sağlamaktır. Böyle bir dersin okutulmasıyla çocukların yetişkinlerden ayrı bir hukuk süjesi oldukları tekrar vurgulanmış olmaktadır.

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) Çocuk kavramı ve çocuk gelişimini bilir.
2) Knows children's rights and history.
3) Understands the crimes that children can commit in the Turkish penal system and the concept of children dragged into crime in this context.
4) Examines the crimes in which children are victims.
5) Evaluates the principles of investigation and prosecution in crimes in which children are victims and perpetrators, the role of lawyers; evaluates juvenile courts and trial procedure.
6) Analyzes sample cases and understands the process.

9) The ability to use a foreign language at least on a B2 Level on the European Language Portfolio, to follow legal developments and communicate with colleagues in that language; to use computer software and information and communication technologies necessary in the law field at an Advanced Level of the European Computer Driving License.
10) Adoption of a positive approach to the concept of lifelong learning.
11) The ability to understand the development, evolution, and problems of the society and to contribute to the solution of these problems by legal methods.
12) The ability to understand the structure, organization, and functioning of law on the national and international level; to contribute to the development thereof.
