Overall Educational Objective Students will acquire a basic knowledge on how to develop an effective oral and written style that have the desired psychological impact. They will acquire the knowledge of critical analysis and preparation of effective speeches as well as learning to learn to write in a style appropriate for the multiple audiences.
Course Description The course aims to provide the students with a basic knowledge to shape the best words to convey the content of ideas and the psychological connotations that accompany the thoughts. This course will firstly present why the expression of certain legal arguments is impactful in reaching successful resolutions. The course will subsequently examine how the facts alone do not comprise a winning presentation. The course will enable to students to acknowledge the importance of written advocacy as well as enabling them to learn about writing effectively and persuasively.
Course Description in Turkish Dersin Genel Amacı, öğrencilere hukuki argümanlarını en etkin bir şekilde ifade edebilme ve bunu yaparken seçtikleri kelimelerin psikolojik etkilerini öngörebilme ve yönetebilme becerisi kazandırabilmektir. Ders öncelikle hukuki argümanları etkin bir şekilde ifade edip, arzu edilen uzlaşı noktalarına nasıl gelineceğini inceleyecektir. Sadece rasyonel verilerin neden rasyonel sonuçlar doğurmadığı da ayrıca incelenecektir. Bu ders öğrencilere yazılı ifade sanatının da argümanların etkisini kuvvetlendirmekteki etkisini gösterecek ve bunu yapabilmenin içerik ve metodolojisini inceleyecektir.

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) Understand the basic dynamics of writing powerful narratives for legal arguments
2) Closely familiarize himself/herself with his/her abilities in writing expressively
3) Evaluate the psychological impact of legal arguments
4) Explore the links and differences between the factual and the psychological impact of the speeches
5) Effectively employ psychological concepts and speechwriting techniques to empower his/her legal arguments

8) The ability to participate in and organize legal projects and activities as a socially responsible individual; to put his/her legal knowledge and skill to use efficiently (in the public or private sector).
9) The ability to use a foreign language at least on a B2 Level on the European Language Portfolio, to follow legal developments and communicate with colleagues in that language; to use computer software and information and communication technologies necessary in the law field at an Advanced Level of the European Computer Driving License.
10) Adoption of a positive approach to the concept of lifelong learning.
11) The ability to understand the development, evolution, and problems of the society and to contribute to the solution of these problems by legal methods.
12) The ability to understand the structure, organization, and functioning of law on the national and international level; to contribute to the development thereof.
