Course Description |
This course basically aims to provide a background in basic business, commercial and environmental law concepts and a proficiency in understanding situations that require the presence of legal counsel. The content of the course is focused on the general meaning, antecedents and application of business, commercial and environmental law; It has a detailed scope in the fields of contract law, commercial business law, negotiable papers law, competition law and environmental law, which are branches of law that need to be examined and applied in detail before/during business-related activities. |

Bu ders temel olarak iş, ticaret ve çevre hukuku kavramları hakkında altyapı ile hukuki danışmanın varlığını gerektiren durumları anlama konusunda yeterlilik sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Dersin içeriği iş, ticaret ve çevre hukukunun genel olarak anlamı, kaynakları ve yönetilmesi kavramları üzerine yoğunlaşacak olup; ticari faaliyetler öncesinde/sırasında detaylı olarak irdelenmesi ve uygulanması gerekli olan hukuk dalları olan sözleşmeler hukuku, ticari işletme hukuku, kıymetli evrak hukuku, rekabet hukuku ve çevre hukuku alanlarıyla ilgili ayrıntılı bir kapsama sahiptir. |
Course Learning Outcomes and Competences
Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) To describe the sources of law and the Turkish legal system in general
2) Understand the basic principles of laws, especially those affecting business activities
3) Outline the different interests and legal mechanisms associated with the company
4) A detailed understanding of contracts law, its principles and application to a variety of business situations
5) Discuss environmental, ethical and compliance rules involved in local and/or cross-border transactions
6) Relate legal principles to economic, political, environmental and social conditions that may arise in the business environment
7) To explain the methods of creating and applying jurisprudence

Teaching Methods | This course was developed from an understanding of active and collaborative learning. The active learning perspective is based on a collaborative, inquiry-based, student-centered teaching approach in which students are actively involved in existing knowledge. The course will cover basic terminology and theoretical structure with relevant practical implications. The methods to be used are generally the introduction of legal concepts, case studies and in-class discussions.
