Overall Educational Objective Developing an educational idea about what education will be like in the future and designing a new school that will serve in the 2040s
Course Description Bu ders, Yüksek Lisans Programındaki her öğrencinin Türk ve yabancı eğitim düşünürlerinin fikirlerini araştırması, üzerinde düşünmesi, tartışması, kritiğini yapması ve eşzamanlı olarak GELECEĞİN OKULUNU TASARLAMAK için kendi eğitim düşüncesini ve ona dayalı okul modelini geliştirmesi amacıyla tasarlanmıştır. Her öğrenci, türü, kademesi, kavramsal çerçevesi, süresi, amacı, programı, yöntemi, teknoloji kullanımı, öğrenci ve öğretmenlerin nitelikleri, rehberlik hizmeti, sosyal sorumluluk projeleri, sanat, spor, vb. programları gibi bir okulun bütün boyutlarını içeren bir GELECEĞİN OKULU 2040 tasarlayacaktır
Course Description in Turkish This course is designed for each student in the Master's Program to research, think about, discuss and criticize the ideas of Turkish and foreign educational thinkers and simultaneously develop their own educational thought and school model based on it in order to DESIGN THE SCHOOL OF THE FUTURE. Each student, type, level, conceptual framework, duration, purpose, program, method, use of technology, qualifications of students and teachers, guidance service, social responsibility projects, art, sports, etc. will design a SCHOOL OF THE FUTURE 2040 that includes all dimensions of a school such as programs

Course Learning Outcomes and Competences

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) To understand the forces that form the foundations of education and shape it, especially rapid technological-digital change and its impact on education and school.
2) To learn, criticize and interpret the thoughts of Turkish and foreign educational thinkers on different dimensions of education.
3) To have information about alternative schools and different educational practices in Turkey and around the world.
4) To create one's own EDUCATIONAL THOUGHT about the basic dimensions of education such as the meaning, purpose, importance, basic principles, curriculum, method, evaluation of student performance, qualifications of teachers, guidance and psychological counseling in schools, the place of technology in education, equality in education and social justice.
5) To design a SCHOOL MODEL OF THE FUTURE that will serve in the coming decades, based on education idea.
6) To share the SCHOOL MODEL OF THE FUTURE that she designed, which will serve in the 2040s and beyond, not only with classmates, but also with other educators and the public

Alternative schools. (5th Edition). PEGEM ACADEMY. (COMPULSORY) Özcan, M. (2013). University in school: A model proposal to restructure teacher education in Turkey. TÜSİAD Publication. (Pages 57-129 REQUIRED). In the weeks when a reading assignment/text is not assigned by the faculty member, students are required to find and read a scientific article on the weekly topic that has been published in a peer-reviewed journal in the last five years.
Teaching MethodsIn this course, Flipped Learning and other Constructivist methods are applied. It is the student's responsibility to research, read and learn the weekly topics of the course before coming to class. In all kinds of course activities, methods that provide the opportunity to learn by doing, experiencing and producing, and that lead to reflective development and creativity by learning from experiences are applied. Students form a Learning Community. In the learning community, everyone shares their ideas with the group without any concern. The group is aware that learning is not only an individual experience but also a social process (Learning is social). Active participation of students and interaction between students in all kinds of teaching and learning activities are essential.

Derse Aktif Katılım: Derse devam ve dersteki etkinliklere aktif katılım zorunludur. Üç haftadan fazla devamsızlık sınıfta kalma sebebidir. Öğrencilerin gerçek zamanlı sınıf etkinliklerine ve Blackboard'da veya Zoom’da verilen online alana aktif olarak katılmaları beklenmektedir. Özel İhtiyaçlar: Derse uyuma ilişkin (öğrenme güçlüğü vb gibi) özel durumları olan öğrenciler bu konuda dersin öğretim üyesini dönemin ilk iki haftasında bilgilendirmelidir. Akademik Dürüstlük: Ders yükümlülüklerini karşılamada dürüstlük esastır. Tüm öğrencilerden, herhangi bir çalışmayı izinsiz veya kaynak göstermeden kullanmayı, gerçek olmayan kaynaklar kullanmayı veya kaynakları başka türlü tahrif etmeyi yasaklayan akademik dürüstlüğe uymaları beklenir. Bu kural, sınavlar, raporlar ve diğer tüm ödevler için geçerlidir. Kopya çekmek veya çektirmek ve intihal yapmak 2547 Sayılı Yüksek Öğretim Kanunu'nun 54. Maddesi’ne tabi olacaktır. Geç Ödevler: Geç verilen ödevler tam not alamaz. Her “geç” gün için ödevin toplam puanından yüzde beşi düşülür.
