Overall Educational Objective | To practice making of documentary films in architecture. | ||||
Course Description | Making Documentaries in Architecture is an elective course that is set to create an environment to design and produce documentary films for architecture. Beginning with the introduction of the cinematic eye on architecture, the course moves on to work with film shooting and editing tools on the site and in-class work. The course is based on lectures, enriched with screenings and on-site filming practice sessions. These are followed up by studio modules, where participants edit their documentaries. Each participant is motivated to produce a documentary film on their studio design project or another topic of interest. | ||||
Course Description in Turkish | Mimarlıkta Belgesel Film mimarlık - belgesel film bağlantısını tasarım, çekim, montaj ve gösterim safhalarını tecrübe etmeyi sağlayan, üretim odaklı bir seçmeli derstir. Program mimarlığın sinematografik bakışın tanıtılması ile başlar, belgesel film yaklaşımı ve üretiminin gösterilmesi ve uygulanması ile devam eder. Teorik anlatım oturumlarına eklenen uygulama saatlerinde katılımcılar belgesel film çekimlerinin prodüksiyon ve post prodüksiyon kısmı için çalışma yaparlar.Her katılımcının dönem içinde mimari tasarım stüdyo dersi ya da belirlenen bir başka mimari konu için bir kısa belgesel film üretmesi desteklenir. |

Teaching Methods | Making Documentaries in Architecture is a documentary film production oriented elective course. The teaching method is based on presentation of the existing concepts - discussion-development sequence, facilitated by active learning approach of individual production. Taking initiatives and responsibility in the design and development of the documentary film motivates the participant to take part in active learning. | ||||||||||||
