Overall Educational Objective The aim of the course is to instruct students about the general principles of extra-contractual liability law and current developments in the field
Course Description This course aims to overview the general principles and elements of non-contractual liability law and analyze and evaluate the current decisions of Turkish Court of Cassation and Swiss Federal Supreme Court. Within this respect, some of the issues that will especially be of importance are general principles for liability, different grounds for liability (such as liability with fault or without fault) and determination of the scope of liability, limitation and extension of the scope of liability, limitation periods and whether these can be modified, liability of more than one person from the same damage.

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:

2) Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected to 2. understand the current debates in the doctrine on the law of extra-contractual liability, formulate and express their own views.

4) Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected to 4. follow the developments in comparative law on non-contractual liability law.
