Overall Educational Objective To learn the general principles of contractual liability law and current developments in this field
Course Description This course aims to overview the general principles and elements of contractual liability law and analyze and evaluate the current decisions of Turkish Court of Cassation and Swiss Federal Supreme Court. Within this respect, some of the issues that will especially be of importance are grounds for non-performance (types of breach of contract and their consequences, liability for associates) and determination of the scope of liability, limitation and extension of the scope of liability, limitation periods and whether these can be modified. Relevant international uniform law instruments will also be taken into consideration.

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) Knows the basic features of contractual liability law.
2) Understands the current debates in the doctrine on contractual liability law, forms and expresses his/her own views.
3) Keeps up with the judicial decisions regarding contractual liability law.
4) Keeps up with the developments in comparative law regarding contractual liability law.
