| Overall Educational Objective | To learn to understand basic concepts of research and its methodologies. | ||||||
| Course Description | This course will focus on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data about a research problem relating to education, developmental psychology, and/or psychological counseling and guidance. Concepts of tests, measurements, and other qualitative or quantitative methodologies will be emphasized. Students will analyze data, interpret findings, and write a research article and prepare a poster presentation. Student will apply concepts learned in EDS 403 for their own research under the supervision of the professor. | ||||||

Course Learning Outcomes and CompetencesUpon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:1) comprehend the critical evaluation of psychological and educational theories and research 2) understand different research methodologies 3) determine a research agenda 4) develop and design a research plan 5) exhibit professional competence in designing, writing, and present research materials using the 6TH EDITION APA format and style 6) locate and evaluate research materials 7) evaluate previous research on a self-selected topic of interest. |

| 9) Take responsibilities individually and within group works, realize the tasks in a responsible and effective way, work individually and as a part of a group to solve problems encountered during implementation; assess himself as an individual, use creative and powerful qualifications and try to develop weak sides. | |||||||
| 10) Interpret social, economic, political and ideological conditions which have caused Turkish revolution; in accordance with Ataturk’s principles and reforms, and embrace the society, and adopt human ideals including love of home country, and national goals and aspirations. | |||||||
