Overall Educational Objective to discuss the foundations of main trade theories and practices, provide basic procedures and documentation of international trade, as well as import-export related topics and concepts and to enable them to evaluate and discuss the requirements of documents and payment methods in the classroom environment.
Course Description This course mainly focuses on introducing the students with the practices of foreign trade operations, besides giving an overall perspective about major trade theories. Throughout the course, the students will be working individually or in groups, on topics of global trading which deal with the most important aspects of importing and exporting, including approaches to them, required documents, payment methods, financing options, shipping, insurance, marketing, and legal and strategic dimensions. The highly interactive, outcome-based modules are also designed to show the students the methods of minimizing major risks while maximize sales and reducing costs.
Course Description in Turkish Bu ders temel olarak, önemli ticaret teorileri hakkında genel bir bakış açısı kazandırmanın yanı sıra, öğrencilere dış ticaret operasyonlarının uygulamalarını tanıtmaya odaklanır. Kurs boyunca öğrenciler, ithalat ve ihracatın en önemli yönleriyle ilgili yaklaşımlar, gerekli belgeler, ödeme yöntemleri, finansman seçenekleri, nakliye, sigorta, pazarlama dahil olmak üzere küresel ticaret konularında bireysel veya grup olarak çalışacaklar. ve yasal ve stratejik boyutlar. Son derece etkileşimli, sonuca dayalı modüller ayrıca öğrencilere satışları en üst düzeye çıkarırken ve maliyetleri düşürürken büyük riskleri en aza indirmenin yöntemlerini göstermek için tasarlanmıştır.

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) Understand the export and imports processes
2) Gain the skill sets required and assess a company's readiness to export and import
3) Identify the major international trading documents required by governments, banks, exports factors, insurance and transportation companies
4) Understand International Commercial Terms (INCOTERMS)
5) Assess different payment and financing options and select those most appropriate for the intended operation
6) Classify and understand major insurance coverage options
7) Learn different types of L/C’s in detail
