Course Description | Human resources as a department of all organization has an important influence. Short, mid or big size of companies have different functions of HR. Nowadays, HR professionals are talking about not the fundamental of HR, but also how to digitalize and adapt the new world. Therefore, this course aims to provide the students with the basic knowledge about terms and definitions in Human Resources, giving suitable methods to various types of industries such as retail, pharmaceutical and also sharing examples from different companies. The course also aims to provide the students with the skills for understanding how HR started to change in last 10 years. Digital Human Resources Management provides you with comprehensive preparation for the HR sector and crucial aspects of other related fields, initially giving a wide overview of the broader management world. | ||||
Course Description in Turkish | Tüm organizasyonların bir departmanı olarak insan kaynakları önemli bir etkiye sahiptir.Kısa, orta veya büyük ölçekli şirketler farklı İK fonksiyonlarına sahiptir. Günümüzde İK profesyonelleri İK'nın temelinden değil, aynı zamanda yeni dünyanın nasıl dijitalleştirileceği ve uyarlanabileceğinden bahsetmektedir. Bu nedenle, bu ders öğrencilere İnsan Kaynakları'ndaki terimler ve tanımlar hakkında temel bilgileri sağlamayı, perakende, ilaç gibi çeşitli sektörlerden uygun yöntemler vermeyi ve farklı firmalardan örnekler paylaşmayı amaçlamaktadır. Ders ayrıca öğrencilere İK'nın son 10 yılda nasıl değişmeye başladığını anlama becerisi kazandırmayı da amaçlamaktadır. Dijital İnsan Kaynakları Yönetimi size İK sektörü için kapsamlı bir hazırlık ve diğer ilgili alanların önemli yönlerini sunar, başlangıçta daha geniş bir yönetim dünyasına genel bir bakış sunar. |

Teaching Methods | This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge about recent developments and trends in Human Resources Management. In order to achieve learning objectives, the course will include reinforcement of active participation, quizzes. Summary of covered topics will be the opening activity for each class session in order to make sure that the most important subjects are reviewed and remembered by all participants. The methods which will be used throughout the course are real life case studies, group projects, presentations, in-class discussions. Every member of the class is expected to freely share her/his knowledge, ideas and questions with the group without any concern. In all kinds of teaching and learning activities, student participation, active learning and learning by doing are essential. | |||||||||||||||||||||

Thus the grading of the class participation will be done based on the quality of active student participation and contribution to in-class activities. Students are expected to attend all sessions and be in class on time.
