Overall Educational Objective To become familiar with the basic theoretical background of major subdisciplines of psychology and linguistics and interdisciplinary aspects of language and communication.
Course Description This course aims to introduce the students to the interdisciplinary aspects of language and communication. Students are introduced to fundamental concepts in the relation between social interaction, linguistic theories, and language development from interdisciplinary aspects such as psychology, linguistic anthropology and musicology. Students will also be introduced to the psychopathology in relationship with communication and social interactional disorders.
Course Description in Turkish Bu ders, öğrencileri dil ve iletişimin disiplinlerarası çalışmalarıyla tanıştırmak amacındadır. Sosyal iletişim, dil teorileri, dil gelişimi ve müzikalite gibi konseptler psikoloji, dilbilim, antropoloji ve müzikoloji gibi disiplinler perspektifinde ele alınacaktır.

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) understand the fundamental theories in linguistics and music psychology;
2) evaluate scientific articles in relation to the research methods and theories employed;
3) communicate English in a scientific manner;
4) create new research ideas;
5) discuss psycholinguistic theories and research in the correct ethical format.

11) Ability to formulate critical hypotheses based on psychological theory and literature, and design studies to test those hypotheses.

Teaching MethodsFlipped format and Lecture. Students will also be asked to read several week’s articles prior to that week’s classroom session. Classroom discussions will be based on these readings.
