Overall Educational Objective To gain knowledge and expertise in therapy room and enhance the listening skills whereas raising the general ability of communication.
Course Description A guided, overall, look to psychotherapy. The course includes the review of the basic patterns of psychotherapy skills from a critical perspective; introduction to case formulation; identification of the differences between the therapist-client relationships with respect to various schools; case discussions related to various approaches to psychotherapy; role playing; interactive discussions focusing on psychotherapy skills
Course Description in Turkish Ders, psikoterapiye geniş ve destekli bir bakış açısı barındırır. Temel örüntülerin, psikoterapi yeteneklerinin eleştirel bir gözle değerlendirilmesini, vaka kavramsallaştırmasına girişi, terapist-danışan ilişkisine farklı bakışların incelenmesini, vaka tartışmalarını ve çeşitli terapi okullarının bu vakalara yaklaşımlarını, vaka canlandırmalarını ve psikoterapi yeteneklerine etkileşimli bir incelemeyi barındırır.

Course Learning Outcomes and Competences

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) use methods of evidence based therapies that based from accumulated knowledge;
2) understand the main methods and how they are relevant with advanced skills;
3) work on the fundamentals and working mechanisms of the techniques that therapists use to reach the formulation part;
4) discuss the qualities and principles of evidence based therapies;
5) examine the studies, which are supported scientifically via research, in terms of efficacy and clinical significance;
6) discuss the feasibility and efficiency of theoretically suggested methods in Turkish context via the role-plays and adapt the methods to the recent context.

9) Recognition, understanding, and respect for the complexity of sociocultural and international diversity.
10) Recognition for the need for, and the skills to pursue, lifelong learning, inquiry, and self-improvement.
11) Ability to formulate critical hypotheses based on psychological theory and literature, and design studies to test those hypotheses.
12) Ability to acquire knowledge independently, and to plan one’s own learning.
13) Demonstration of advanced competence in the clarity and composition of written work and presentations.
