Overall Educational Objective Students will be able to master the basic concepts of maritime law and the general principles of maritime commercial contracts.
Course Description Basic concepts of maritime commercial law, ships and register of ships, maritime contracts.
Course Description in Turkish Deniz Ticaret hukukundaki temel kavramlar, gemi ve gemi sicili, deniz ticareti sözleşmeleri.

Course Learning Outcomes and Competences

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) Understands the subject of maritime commercial law.
2) Knows the ship and related concepts, recognizes the ship registry.
3) Have general information about the provisions of maritime commercial contracts and comprehend the responsibility of the carrier.
4) Distinguishes maritime trade contracts.
5) Knows the concepts and application of stowage and general average.

9) Recognition, understanding, and respect for the complexity of sociocultural and international diversity.
10) Recognition for the need for, and the skills to pursue, lifelong learning, inquiry, and self-improvement.
11) Ability to formulate critical hypotheses based on psychological theory and literature, and design studies to test those hypotheses.
12) Ability to acquire knowledge independently, and to plan one’s own learning.
13) Demonstration of advanced competence in the clarity and composition of written work and presentations.
