Overall Educational Objective | To learn to comprehend the professional, legal and managerial dimensions related to the practices of interior design. | ||||
Course Description | This course provides learners with exposure to the practical aspects of the interior design profession. It offers an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge gained in academic settings to real-world projects and challenges. Internships aim to enhance and develop a range of skills crucial to the design field. This includes design skills, technical proficiency in drafting and modeling, communication skills, project management, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The course seeks to integrate learners into the professional culture and practices of design firms. It is organized in a manner that enables students to understand the workflow, project dynamics, and the professional expectations and standards within the industry. Throughout the course, learners will engage in hands-on learning, collaborative projects, and experiences alongside practicing designers, interior designers, and architects. By completing this course, students will gain internship experience covering 72 working days. |
Course Learning Outcomes and CompetencesUpon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:1) know various phases of interior design projects; 2) collaborate in a team setting; 3) develop practical design skills, including proficiency in drafting, modeling, and using design software; 4) communicate effectively within a professional context. |
