Overall Educational Objective | To become familiar with the theoretical background of psychoanalytic character diagnosis. | ||||
Course Description | The course aims to enable student to understand the personality structures in the psychoanalytic clinical process. Topics covered include developmental process of personality organization, defensive processes, personality types and projective tests. The students will be able to understand and critique empirical materials written in the psychoanalytic concept. At the end of this course, student will be gained the ability of discriminating the different personality structures and approaches in the psychoanalytic clinical process. | ||||
Course Description in Turkish | Bu ders öğrencinin, klinik süreçte psikanalitik bakış açısıyla kişilik örgütlenmelerini anlaması amaçlamaktadır. Derste kişilik organizasyonunun gelişimsel süreci, savunma mekanizmaları, kişilik türleri ve projektif testler gibi konular üzerinde durulacaktır. Öğrenciler psikanalitik çerçeve içerisinde yazılmış eleştirel ve ampirik materyalleri anlamış olacaktır. Dönemin sonunda öğrenciler, farklı kişilik örgütlenmelerini ayırt etmeyi ve klinik süreçteki yaklaşımları öğrenmiş olacaktır. |

Teaching Methods | This course will be taught in the flipped format. Students will be assigned an introductory online lecture every week. During class time, I will first assess and reinforce the students’ grasp of basic concepts from the online lecture. I as the instructor commit to preparing and selecting popular readings in the concept for each class. Students will be expected to prepare for class by spending sufficient time to master the preparatory materials. They will also be expected to contribute appropriately to class discussions. Classroom discussions will also be based on the suggested readings as well as various videos. | ||||||||||||||||||
