Overall Educational Objective | To gain a broad overview of the management, marketing and organization of an interior design project from scratch to the realization. | ||||
Course Description | The course focuses on interior designers’ potential professional manager roles and seeks to develop awareness in the processes of practice in interior design. The course introduces the phases and milestones of decision-making (such as selection of materials according to space, codes and standards, according to conceptual design and client requirements etc.), managing part holders such as vendors and engineers, preparing targeted representation and finalizing the project. How to manage project related documentation and data to create a portfolio for marketing purposes and build a business image to become a brand and expand a business will further be discussed. |
Course Learning Outcomes and CompetencesUpon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:1) understand how an interior design project is executed; 2) identify the strategies of a successful business; 3) understand marketing and branding strategies in interior design; 4) analyze the process of design realization; 5) apply different aspects of managing in their own design. |
