| Course Description |
Project management has evolved into a separate discipline and has its own standards, methods, approaches and best practices throughout the last decades mainly by the help of institutions like PMI, ANSI etc. Although the standards apply to all types of projects, due to the nature of the specific project, the most suitable method and approach is selected among many and hybrid methods are applied where deemed necessary.
Therefore, this course aims to provide the students with the basic knowledge about terms and definitions in project management, efficiently managing projects, setting up and running project management offices, applying suitable methods to various types of projects such as construction projects, IT projects, new product development projects, public sector projects etc. The course also aims to provide the students with the skills for developing project plans, establishing effective communications and managing stakeholder expectations.

Proje yönetimi son yıllarda özellikle PMI, ANSI gibi kurumların da yardımıyla kendi standartları, metotları, yaklaşımları ve uygulamaları olan ayrı bir disiplin olarak evrilmiştir. Her ne kadar standartlar bütün projeler için geçerli olsa da, projenin niteliğine ve türüne göre en uygun metot, artık tanımlanmış olan birçok metot arasından seçilmekte ve gerekli görüldüğünde hibrit metotlar uygulanabilmektedir.
Bu ders, öğrencilere proje yönetimi dünyasındaki temel tanım ve terimler, projelerin etkin yönetimi, proje ofisleri kurma ve yönetme, inşaat, yazılım, yeni ürün geliştirme ve kamu projeleri gibi değişik türde projeler için en uygun metodu seçme ve uygulama konuları hakkında bilgi birikimi kazandırmayı amaçlar. Dersin amaçları arasında öğrencilere proje planı oluşturma, etkin iletişim yönetimi ve paydaşların beklentilerini yönetme konularında beceri kazandırmak da yer almaktadır. |

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) Proje yönetiminde standart terim ve tanımları, hesaplamaları, teknikleri, yöntemleri ve yaklaşımları açıklar.
2) Proje planlama, zaman ve maliyet tahmini, riskleri kontrol etme ve yönetme konularında beceriler gösterme
3) Ekipleri organize etme ve destekleme, etkili iletişim kurma ve paydaş beklentilerini yönetme konusundaki zorlukları kavramak
4) Proje yönetimi fonksiyonunun organizasyonlarda nereye uyduğunu ve kurumsal hedeflere nasıl hizmet ettiğini anlamak
