Overall Educational Objective | To understand global energy politics, energy relations and the energy (especially renewable) politics of Turkey in the global arena.
Course Description | This course is designed first of all to give a general overview regarding the global energy situation based on the historical process by analyzing the different energy eras. Not only energy, but also the relationship between climate commitments, sustainable development and the role of renewable energy will be conceptualized. Furthermore, the course will discuss Turkey in particular as a case country and elaborate country`s energy relations and strategies. As Turkey is still a fossil-dependent-energy country but strongly needs to accomplish an energy independency, the need and requirements for a post-fossil energy transformation will be propounded. In this case, the concept of Responsible Research and Innovation will be approached and the importance of public acceptance and the role of social actors will be highlighted.
Course Description in Turkish | Ders, küresel enerji durumunu tarihsel süreçleri ve farklı enerji çağlarını ele alarak analiz etmeyi hedeflemektedir. |
