Bilim ve temel kavramlar (olgu, bilgi, mutlak, doğru, yanlış, evrensel bilgi vb.), bilim tarihine ilişkin temel bilgiler, eğitim araştırmalarının temel ilkeleri, metodları ve paradigmaları. Eğitim alanında yapılan araştırmaları anlama ve değerlendirme.

Course Learning Outcomes and Competences
Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be able to:
1) nicel ve nitel araştırmanın özelliklerini ve araştırma yöntemlerinin birbirinden ne şekilde farklı olduğunu anlar;
2) araştırmayı anlamlı bir şekilde değerlendirir ve eleştirir;
3) uygun bir araştırma hedefi ve sorusu yazar ve soruyu cevaplamak için bir çalışma yöntemi önerir;
4) araştırma sorusu etrafındaki çeşitli araştırmalardan elde edilen bilgileri sentezleyen ve literatürdeki boşlukları ele alan ilgili literatürü gözden geçirir;
5) gelecekteki bir öğretmen / psikolojik danışman olarak bir eylem araştırma çalışması yürütür ve rapor eder;
6) akademik yazma için APA standartlarını sergiler, eğitim araştırmalarında yasal ve etik konuları tartışır.
