It is undeniable that the branch of neurophilosophy has a content that affects the general theories of all scientific disciplines. This impact is also felt in the fields of political theory and philosophy of law. Examining the different dimensions of this effect is the subject of this course. |
| Course Description |
Progress in the field of neuroscience brings new perspectives for some discussion points that exist in general philosophy for ages. These new insights of neurophilosophy concerning the discussion on the existence of free-will in humans bear a potential to alter classical stances in legal philosophy and political theory. This course aims to examine neurophilosophys new approaches from the angle whether they are able to change classical frameworks of these old disciplines.

Nörobilimin kaydettiği ilerleme, felsefe alanında antik çağdan bu yana süregelen bazı kadim tartışmalarda yeni perspektifler açılmasını sağladı. Kısaca nörofelsefe olarak adlandırılabilecek bu yeni perspektiflerin özellikle insanın özgür iradesinin varlığı tartışmasına ilişkin boyutu hukuk felsefesini ve siyaset kuramını dönüştürecek bir nitelik taşıyor. Bu ders kapsamında nörofelsefe düzleminde yürütülen tartışmaların içeriği ve kadim meseleleri yeniden ele alma potansiyeli inceleniyor.
